The Mayor of West Yorkshire, Tracy Brabin and Violence Reduction Partnership have just launched a new competition for young people (aged 11-25) to help design a West Yorkshire-wide campaign on the theme of staying safe from gangs, crime, and pressure from others.
Entries close at midnight on Monday 30 November 2026.
Who can enter the competition?
You can enter this competition for young people if you:
- are aged 11 to 25
- live, study or work in West Yorkshire
- meet the competition terms and conditions
You can enter on your own or as part of a group.
What your idea should include
You can share your idea in any creative way you like. For example, you could send:
- a drawing or poster
- a storyboard
- a photo
- a piece of writing
- a digital design
- a short video of up to 30 seconds
In your entry, tell them:
- what your campaign is about
- why it matters to young people
- what message you want to share about staying safe from gangs, crime and pressure from others
- how your idea could make a positive difference
You can tell them all of this in the entry form.
They are looking for ideas that are positive and encouraging. The best campaigns inspire people and share good messages, rather than blaming people or telling them what to do.
You can use artificial intelligence (AI) tools to help make your entry. If you do, please tell them which parts you made with AI.
Please do not include personal details about yourself or anyone else.
