West Yorkshire’s Voluntary, Community and Social Enterprise (VCSE) sector plays a vital role in ensuring the benefits of devolution reach all our people and communities.
Across WY this key sector also:
- makes an estimated £5bn p.a. contribution to the regional economy;
- which is produced by 5,700 registered and an estimated 7,400 unregistered community and charitable organisations; and
- is delivered by a total of 126,000 volunteers and 32,000 employees.
That’s why West Yorkshire’s Combined Authority, Local Authorities, and place Local Infrastructure Organisations are working in partnership to establish a new VCSE Advisory Group. This new group will act as advocates, champions, and ambassadors for this important and valued sector.
Appointment of a Chair
The Advisory Group will serve as the VCSE sector’s strategic point of contact with the Mayor of West Yorkshire, Tracy Brabin, and the West Yorkshire Combined Authority.
Following the recent successful recruitment of members to the Advisory Group, we are now looking for an established and effective WY VCSE leader to fulfil the role of Chair to drive the work of the Group.
