Save the Date: Calderdale Food Gathering 2026

Calderdale Food Network are excited to announce that our annual Calderdale Food Gathering will take place on September 17th, 2026, from 11.00 – 4.00 in the Albany Arcade, Halifax Borough Market. 

As always, this event is an opportunity for everyone with an interest in food to come together to celebrate positive actions, share ideas and taste and see what Calderdale has to offer. Highlights will include:

  • a vibrant local producer’s market 
  • cooking demonstrations
  • a celebration of our diverse food culture 
  • opportunities to get involved with the Calderdale good food movement and food strategy working groups
  • a chance to meet and chat to local food producers, community groups, affordable food hubs, growing & cooking projects, community kitchens, and market traders.

Once again Calderdale Markets are making stalls available free of charge but numbers are limited so don’t delay!

This year’s event will be a highlight of the Calderdale Festival of Food – a two‑week celebration running from 7–20 September, encouraging people in Calderdale and nearby areas to discover and enjoy the very best local food and drink.


If you are a Calderdale‑based food producer and/or food & drink venue who would like to participate in the festival, ie;
– run a food‑related event or activity during the Festival, or
– create a special Festival menu using locally sourced ingredients.


Your event or venue will be promoted as part of the wider Festival campaign, and you’ll also receive branded digital assets to help with your own marketing.

You will receive a VAC Member welcome pack with useful information on getting the most out of your membership and a few extra treats!

Every member of VAC will be invited to our Annual General Meeting (AGM) and has voting rights for resolutions and proposals either in person or by proxy.

The online dashboard will keep you and your colleagues up to date on the latest member opportunities, training and news.

The Member Area also has a forum function, allowing VAC Member organisations to interact and support each other.

A quarterly newsletter to keep our members up to date on not only VAC Membership updates and opportunities but also specifically created content on topics of interest to the local voluntary, community and social enterprise sector. 

The Bimonthly Member Network is for VAC Members to connect with other VAC Members!

A perfect opportunity to support one another, find out about other local services and explore new collaborative opportunities and partnerships with fellow VAC members.
