HMRC has doubled the value of its funding to voluntary and community sector organisations to £11 million.
Groups that receive funding under the programme will receive three-year funding grants from April 2027.
Through the Voluntary and Community Sector Grant Funding programme, HMRC provides funding to organisations which can offer free, independent advice and support to customers who need extra help engaging with the organisation, ensuring that its users’ needs are met, and that they receive expert tax and benefits advice.
HMRC are looking for voluntary and community sector organisations to provide free, independent, multi-channel tax and tax-related support to HMRC’s customers who need extra support with their tax affairs, enabling them to be long-term self-sufficient.
Closing date 3 July 2026 11:59pm
Evaluations will take place in July and August 2026
Notifications sent to successful/unsuccessful applicants by the end of October 2026
Grant agreements in place and funding programme commences 1 April 2027
