The DWP are asking people to check their State Pension Age
Check your State Pension age – GOV.UK
Why it matters:
The State Pension age is rising from 66 to 67 between April 2026 and March 2028. If you were born between 6th April 1960 and 5th March 1961, your State Pension age wont simply be 66 – it could be 66 plus a number of months.
Crucially, State Pension doesn’t arrive automatically. People need to apply, and the Pension Service sends invitation letters around four months before someone reaches their State Pension age.
It’s important that everyone understands when they will receive their State Pension and how quick an easy it is to check – all you need to do is enter your date of birth at www.gov.uk/state-pension-age.
