West Yorkshire Paths offer psychological therapy and midwifery interventions for women and birthing people who are experiencing moderate to severe mental health needs from birth trauma and/or baby loss.
This can include:
- Birth trauma, trauma during pregnancy, maternity and neonatal care
- Referrals are accepted for people many years after the trauma if this is continuing to impact their mental health
- Severe fear of birth for people who are not yet pregnant
- Baby loss occurring at any point during pregnancy and up to baby being one year old. Referrals accepted for people many years after baby loss if this is continuing to impact their mental health
- Being at risk of separation from their baby due to a Public Law Outline (PLO) safeguarding procedure
It’s a safe space for people from all backgrounds, cultures, ethnicities, disabilities, religions, spiritual beliefs, sexualities, gender identities and family arrangements. Highly trained staff work hard to provide trauma informed support and provide a safe, trustworthy service that listens and gives individual choices for a person’s care.
The service offers support to people who live in Bradford District and Craven, Calderdale, Kirklees, Leeds, and Wakefield District. The service is open for referrals from health and care professionals.
