Vacancy for Czech/Slovak Speaker Community Link Worker in CMBC

Calderdale Council are looking to recruit a Community Link Worker to be part of the Neighbourhood Team at Halifax Central Initative, based at Elsie Whitley Innovation Centre.

Salary: Scale 3-4, SCP 5-11, £25,583 – £28, 142 per annum, pro rata

Package: 18.5 hours per week, permanent

Closing Date: Sunday 15th February 2026

Interview Date: Thursday 26th February 2026

Applicants must have:

  • Experience of working in a paid or voluntary capacity with residents and/or community groups within a diverse community.
  • Good organisational and team working skills with the ability to communicate clearly in writing and face to face with a broad range of people.
  • A knowledge and understanding of the issues that face people living in neighbourhoods like Halifax Central.

It is essential that the postholder has the ability to communicate in Czech/Slovak verbally and in writing.

You will be required to work with residents from all communities particularly focusing on Eastern European/Roma Heritage residents.
