UK’s Largest Health Resarch Programme Opening a New Clinic in Halifax

Help people in your community live longer, healthier lives!

Take part in the UK’s largest ever health research programme on 20th-24th September.

Our Future Health, is the UK’s largest ever health research programme established in partnership with the NHS and the UK Government, and supported by leading charities and universities. Their aim is to help people live healthier lives for longer through the discovery and testing of more effective approaches to prevention, earlier detection, and treatment of diseases such as diabetes, heart disease, cancer, stroke, and dementia.

They’re inviting people from all backgrounds across the UK to take part by sharing information about their health and lifestyle through a one-off appointment and online questionnaire. This will help them build one of the most detailed pictures they’ve ever had of the nation’s health. At the appointment, participants will have the opportunity to learn more about their health through measurements such as blood pressure and heart rate. Our Future Health also plans to offer participants the option to receive information on their risk of certain diseases in the future.

They will be offering walk-in appointments for people to sign up in person at their mobile clinic in Halifax at Woolshops Shopping Centre, Halifax HX1 1RU (positioning in front of M&S / CEX), from the 20th to 24th September. Pre-booked appointments will also be available from the 25th of September to the 10th of October, with registration required via their website in advance.

Halifax clinic opening times are:

  • Monday – Friday: 11am-6pm
  • Saturday: 11am-5pm
  • Sunday: 11am-3:45pm

The online dashboard will keep you and your colleagues up to date on the latest member opportunities, training and news.

The Member Area also has a forum function, allowing VAC Member organisations to interact and support each other.

A quarterly newsletter to keep our members up to date on not only VAC Membership updates and opportunities but also specifically created content on topics of interest to the local voluntary, community and social enterprise sector. 

The Bimonthly Member Network is for VAC Members to connect with other VAC Members!
