The Government will be running a national test of the Emergency Alerts system on Sunday 7th September 2025, at 3pm.
If you have a compatible mobile phone or tablet you’ll receive an alert that will make a loud sound and vibrate. You don’t need to do anything when this happens.
The Emergency Alerts system is designed to keep people safe by warning about serious dangers nearby, such as extreme weather. Regular testing helps make sure the system works properly if it’s ever needed in an emergency.
Opt out of the test
You can opt out of emergency alerts, including the national test, but you should keep them switched on for your own safety.
