Tracy Brabin, the Mayor of West Yorkshire, has pledged to make tackling Serious Violence a priority and deliver on the government’s mission of halving knife crime in a decade.
The spotlight on Serious Violence in the new Police and Crime Plan is part of the journey to make this a reality.
The consultation on Serious Violence has now been launched, and this will inform West Yorkshire’s Serious Violence Strategy, being co-produced with our partners and affected communities.
This consultation is now open until Tuesday 30th September 2025, and your views are needed to help shape West Yorkshire’s future.

There is also a simpler survey designed for children and young people, but which can also be competed by anyone of any age who would like to share their views. This printable survey is designed to support parents, carers, guardians, and organisations working with children in helping young people take part in this consultation and ensure their voices are heard.
