Tender Project Background
Voluntary Action Calderdale has been commissioned by Calderdale Primary Care Trust to undertake a small project to support frontline organisations with their organisational development needs.
The overall aim of the project is to introduce tendering processes to groups and therefore this project is being delivered electronically.
This means that all the documents relating to the project will only be available via email or online at VAC’s website. It also means that all applications must be submitted via email.
Why are we doing things this way?
Tender opportunities are currently delivered via a web-based system and therefore you need to have access to the Internet to engage in this process. Notices relating to tenders are also sent out electronically, so we wanted to mirror this process as closely as possible in this project.
How similar is this project to the real thing?
As well as using electronic means to deliver the project, we have followed European Union guidelines regarding the closing date for applications. We have also added a quality element should your application move to the second stage.
We are being less prescriptive, than for example a grant application, regarding the information you give us about your project in your application. This is because some tenders will expect you to provide all this detail with very little guidelines. Another element that is similar to tenders is the expectation that if successful you sign an agreement with VAC and undertake some prescribed activities (see specification for further details).
We are providing support with applications but this will not be provided by Joanne Bolland as she is a panel member and will run the project with the successful organisations. This mirrors tendering processes in that it is usual for staff who hold contracts/produce tenders to not have individual contact with applicants until the interview stage due to the need to be impartial with all applicants.
