To whom it may concern;

Lifeline is a charity that supports individuals affected by drug and/or alcohol misuse.

Lifeline works to assist people overcome the barriers they may face when making positive changes to their lifestyle.

Provision focuses on supporting individuals in recognizing and achieving their personal, social, health and vocational goals.

Lifeline are currently sourcing voluntary placements for our service users who are making these positive lifestyle changes and who have identified giving their time to a voluntary organisation as a personal goal they are working towards.

We are looking to develop a network of voluntary organisations that are willing to provide a structured volunteering opportunity for our clients. Specifically those clients who want to make a positive change in their lives; gain confidence, training and work experience through volunteer work.

Lifeline work on a daily basis with a broad range of individuals from across the community who have had issues related to drug or alcohol misuse.  Many, as part of their journey to recovery, want to put something back into the local community and are looking for positive and constructive ways to use their time.

Lifeline will work in partnership with your organisation, providing substance misuse awareness training and support to ensure your services confidence in working with our client group. Together with a named contact at Lifeline to support each client.  We appreciate this may be a new approach, however, we will be honest when referring potential candidates, provide a CRB vetting process if required and ensure that all important information relating to any volunteering position is included in our confidentiality sharing protocols. Lifeline also have a small budget available to support with any work wear or equipment which may be required for the role.

Lifeline recognises that an integral part of the aftercare process is being able to “move on.”  By providing these opportunities, we hope to encourage a positive meaningful use of time, enabling our clients to integrate successfully back into the community.
